Johnson sets all-time scoring record as Generals take down Wolves 6-2

Oceanside forward passes Landon Dziadyk on team points list

Carter Johnson is now the all-time points leader in Oceanside Generals history.

Johnson scored three times, leading the Generals to a 6-2 win over the host Westshore Wolves in Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League action Wednesday at the Q Centre.

With his first period goal (his 19th of the season), Johnson moved past Landon Dziadyk (144 points) as the most prolific scorer in Generals history. Johnson, the league’s runaway scoring leader this season with 47 points in 21 games, now has 147 points in 80 career games.

Oceanside (18-3-1-2) scored twice in the first period and added four more in the second to cruise to the win and remain atop the league standings.

Evan Dyce, Miles Carson and Braedan Leary also tallied for the winners, with Dante Paziuk adding two assists.

Kaden Ryan and Rowan Cairns scored for Westshore (8-16-1-0).

Ashton Sadauskas stopped 23 of 25 shots to pick up the netminding win, improving his own record on the year to 10-2-0-1. Benjamin Edwards made 34 saves and took the loss.

On Friday, the Generals are on the road again, taking on the Comox Valley Glacier Kings. They return home Saturday to host the Campbell River Storm (7 p.m.) at Oceanside Place.
