Clippers getting ready for three road games on the mainland

The Nanaimo Clippers ran the gauntlet in BCHL action last week with three games in three nights, and ended up winning two of them.

The Clippers defeated the Victoria Grizzlies 4-3 on Thursday, Jan. 28, on the road, then edged the Powell River Kings 5-4 in overtime Friday at Frank Crane Arena before falling 4-1 to the Surrey Eagles on Saturday at Frank Crane.

In the first game of the week, Keighan Gerrie led the Clippers with two goals against the Grizz including the game-winning marker with about a minute and a half left in the third period. The next night against the Kings, it was Andrew Noel who was the hero with his game-winner one minute into overtime on a power play.

GAME ON … The Clippers are getting ready to play three games in three days again this coming weekend, all on the road. The Shipmen start with a matchup Friday, Feb. 4, against the Chilliwack Chiefs, then they face back-to-back games against the Eagles.
