UPDATE: Malahat traffic flowing freely after 2-vehicle crash cleared

Police thanked motorists for their patience as crews worked scene

Traffic is beginning to flow freely on the Malahat once again as police report a crash which caused snarls earlier in the afternoon has now been cleared.

Just after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (June 7) the West Shore RCMP said in a tweet traffic was beginning to flow as normal, and thanked motorists for their patience.

The two-vehicle collision at Finlayson Arm Road was reported by police just before 1:30 p.m., and reduced the Trans-Canada Highway to single lane alternating traffic, causing delays around Goldstream Provincial Park.

It was the second incident on the stretch of highway in as many days.
