The early morning ferry commute to Vancouver Island was delayed more than an hour due to problems with the reservation system.
BC Ferries issued service notices Monday, Nov. 6, advising that the Queen of Alberni, sailing from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo’s Duke Point, departed 78 minutes behind schedule “due to a technical issue with our reservation system at the Tsawwassen terminal.”
Even though the technical difficulties have put the boat behind schedule, Queen of Alberni travellers are asked to arrive during the check-in time noted in their booking confirmation e-mail to maintain their reserved status.
“This ensures we can stage your vehicle at the terminal ahead of standby customers and those reserved on later sailings,” the ferry corporation noted.
BC Ferries said it appreciated travellers’ patience and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the sailing delay.
