Campbell River RCMP investigating after pedestrian struck

Incident occurred in early morning June 22; Woman in serious, but stable condition.

Campbell River RCMP are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Cedar Street at approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 22.

One woman is in hospital in serious, but stable condition.

The area of Cedar Street was closed for several hours to allow for a thorough investigation by RCMP traffic analysts.

Const. Maury Tyre of the RCMP said the situation backed up would-be travellers on their way to work or school.

“We would like to thank the public for their patience and co-operation this morning, especially the students that had to adjust their route to school,” said Tyre

RCMP are looking for witnesses who were in the vicinity of the 300 block of Cedar Street between the times of 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on June 22. They are encouraging any witnesses or individuals with dash cam footage to come forward.
