The Oceanside Generals will have 10 players who will see action at the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League’s All-Star and Top Prospects games in Lake Cowichan on Jan. 28.
Team captain Jacob Thomas, the Generals’ top scorer (ranked fifth in the league) with 32 goals and 23 assists for 55 points, leads the list along with forward Grayson Erickson and blue-liners Brady Van Herk and Tyson Pauze. They will play in the All-Star Game featuring the league’s top players.
In the Top Prospects game, showcasing the league’s leading young talent, the Generals will have forwards Walty Pedersen, Kane Law, Jasper Fellbaum and Zaya Morro, along with goaltenders Hunter Farrer and Marc Samyn.

The schedule of events for all-star day:
10:30 a.m. – Prospects Game
1 p.m. – Mayor’s Lunch
3:30 p.m. – All Star Game
Following each of the games, an MVP will be selected from each team.

The VIJHL consists of 11 teams in two divisions. The North Island Division consists of the Campbell River Storm, Comox Valley Glacier Kings, Lake Cowichan Kraken, Nanaimo Buccaneers, the Generals and the Port Alberni Bombers. The South Island Division consists of the Kerry Park Islanders, Peninsula Panthers, Saanich Predators, Westshore Wolves and the Victoria Cougars.
