RCMP: Parksville motorist reports firecrackers thrown at vehicles

PQB crime report: Police also deal with prowlers, car thieves

Oceanside RCMP received 243 complaints the week of Oct. 8 to Oct. 14.

Some of the incidents included:

Oct. 8

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 800 block of Juniper Road, Parksville.

• A Deere LC 2000 excavator was reported damaged by a suspicious fire on Sun West Place, Parksville.

• A motorist reported firecrackers being thrown at vehicles at Island Highway and Corfield Street, Parksville.

Oct. 9

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 600 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville, on Oct. 9. Vehicle recovered by Ladysmith RCMP on Oct. 25.

Oct. 10

• A vehicle gas tank was reported drilled and fuel stolen in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville.

• A vehicle was reported keyed in the 300 block of Hirst Avenue, Parksville.

Oct. 11

• A business was reported vandalized causing more than $5,000 in damage in the 400 block of Island Highway West, Parksville. A female was apprehended on site and arrested.

• A railway signal box was reported vandalized with both doors and locks ground off in the 300 block of Horne Lake Road, Qualicum Beach.

Oct. 12

• A business break-and-enter was reported in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach. A wall was noted damaged.

• A Yamaha 20 HP motor and a Yamaha 3000 generator were reported stolen from a property in the 1000 block of Koen Road, Qualicum Beach.

• A business was vandalized with graffiti in the 100 block of Craig Street, Parksville. A nearby business in the 100 block of Middleton Avenue was also tagged.

• A business break-and-enter was reported in the 600 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville. Diesel fuel was reported stolen as well as work equipment from a trailer.

Oct. 13

• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 700 block of Mullholland Drive, Parksville.
