Oceanside RCMP received 255 complaints the week of Sept. 3 to Sept. 9.
Some of those incidents included:
Sept. 3
• A rock was reported thrown at a vehicle causing damage while traveling on the Island Highway near the Big Qualicum River Bridge.
• A resident reported receiving a call from a supposed online retailer convincing it was necessary to access their cellphone remotely. The resident discovered that unauthorized bank withdrawals were made from their account.
Sept. 4
• A rock was reported thrown at a vehicle causing damage while traveling on the Island Highway near Qualicum First Nation Campground.
• A rock was reported thrown at a vehicle causing damage while traveling on the Island Highway near Horne Lake Road.
• A log deer lawn ornament was reported vandalized in the 600 block of Phillips Street, Parksville.
Sept. 5
• B.C. licence plate WHC25E was reported stolen from a trailer in the 2300 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs, on September 5.
• A phone was found near the Parksville Curling Club on Sept. 5. Owner notified and picked up from Oceanside RCMP on Sept. 6.
• A male prowler was reported in the 300 block of Sutherland Crescent. Parksville.
• A grey 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle, B.C. licence plate Z61145, was reported stolen in the 3500 block of Dolphin Drive, Nanoose Bay.
• A shovel, two rakes and other tools were reported stolen from a property in the 100 block of Horne Lake Road, Qualicum Beach.
Sept. 6
• Locks were reported cut off of dumpsters in the 900 block of Sheare Road.
• A business break-and-enter was reported in the 1000 block of Resort Drive, Parksville.
Sept. 8
• A secured-with-chain, silver-coloured 14-foot Lowe model LV1457 aluminum boat was reported stolen in the 3100 block of Island Highway, Qualicum Beach.
• A 25-kilogram container of sodium sulphate tablets were reported from an industrial building in the 800 block of Church Road, Parksville.
• A black wallet was found in the area of Pintail Drive and Johnstone Road, Parksville, on Sept. 8. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim quoting File No. 2023-9717.
Sept. 9
• A resident was reported defrauded of $13,500 by following instructions from a caller claiming to be from a major bank to withdraw cash and transfer to a bitcoin ATM.
