The Port Hardy RCMP had to act quickly while making an arrest on the Fort Rupert reserve (Tsaxis) last Friday, Aug. 11.
Acting detachment commander Corp. Ryan Rooke confirmed social media reports that they were notified around 1:43 p.m. about a man who was “on the reserve and had entered an unlocked home with a baseball bat.”
The RCMP received multiple calls reporting the incident while they were busy responding, stated Rooke.
“We located the male, took him into custody and he was arrested for multiple offences, including hitting a car with a baseball bat, and the matter remains under investigation.”
RCMP have not yet filed charges with the Crown.
