Nanaimo woodcarver Dan Richey uses his chainsaw Monday morning to rough out the wings and face of an angel sculpture that he is carving from the trunk of a maple tree in the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church cemetery. Richey plans to feature two angels in the carving with a small angel resting on the knee of a larger angel, watching over the burial grounds.
