Nanaimo man wins $75,000 playing the lottery

Brenton Lalonde said he was ‘vibrating’ from excitement after B.C./49 win

After winning $75,000 from a recent B.C./49 lottery draw, Brenton Lalonde couldn’t contain his excitement.

The Nanaimo resident purchased his ticket at the Petro-Canada station on Terminal Avenue in Nanaimo, and found out he won while watching TV with his wife last month.

“I saw a lottery commercial and decided to check my ticket; I gave it to my wife to scan on her phone and then I started vibrating,” he said in a B.C. Lottery Corporation news release. “It doesn’t feel real. It’s surreal.”

He said he plans on using some of his winnings to finish home renovations.
