The RCMP will be looking for people seeking careers in policing at at a career fair happening in downtown Nanaimo this week.
RCMP recruiters will be on hand at the Work B.C. Job Fair, along with more than 40 other potential employers at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre on Wednesday, April 26, from 1-4 p.m..
Recruiters will be on hand to looking for potential candidates looking for an exciting and dynamic career with the RCMP, according to an RCMP press release.
People not interested in working directly in policing can also explore possible careers as 911 dispatchers or with B.C. Corrections and Correctional Service of Canada.
Potential job opportunities are also being offered by the Canadian Armed Forces for those looking to serve in the military.
The range of employment possibilities is as broad as the employers offering careers at the fair and include grocery retail chains Country Grocer and Quality Foods, banking with Coastal Community Credit Union, environmental cleanup with Western Canada Marine Response Corporation, security work with Footprints Security and Securiguard, and health services with Island Health, B.C. Emergency Health Services and Vancouver Island Mental Health Society. Employment is also being offered in construction, insurance, transportation, education and more.
Nanaimo RCMP will also hold recruitment sessions at the Nanaimo RCMP detachment, 303 Prideaux St., on May 12, at 3:30 p.m. and May 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
