The Bowker Creek Brush-Up enjoyed its 18th year without rain and continued to give artists a beautiful space to show off their work.

The 2023 event took place Sunday (Aug. 13) along the Bowker Creek banks in Oak Bay and featured more than 40 artists.

The only requirements for artists are to contribute to community engagement while also marketing their ability.

The Oak Bay Community Artists Society put on the event with planning kicking off in March.

The artists’ tables were scattered from Armstrong Avenue to Hampshire Road.

The 18th annual Bowker Creek Brush-Up included live music and a barbecue. Recreation Oak Bay also set up an area for children’s activities including making paper crowns, and some adults even got in on the fun.
