New public art piece intended to be a permanent fixture at Sway’ A’ Lana Lagoon

The City of Nanaimo is putting its name up in big letters for all to see.

A new permanent art piece is being installed today, April 29, as five-foot-tall letters spelling out ‘Nanaimo’ are being bolted down at Maffeo Sutton Park’s Sway’ A’ Lana Lagoon.

Sign installers from Monarch Structures in Richmond are handling the installation of the piece, which is costing the city about $50,000.
